Dinner Keynote Speaker - Governor Ted Strickland

We're very pleased to announce that Governor Ted Strickland of Ohio will be our keynote speaker for Saturday's dinner!

The son of a steelworker who grew up in Appalachian Ohio, Ted Strickland's entire life has been spent fighting to protect working families and to make sure everyone has a chance to succeed.

Strickland was sworn in as Ohio’s Governor in 2007 as the nation teetered on the brink of economic collapse. Governor Strickland worked to tackle this crisis by laying a foundation for economic progress and a thriving middle class.

He made strategic investments in job creation, improved Ohio’s business climate, reformed education, and made government live within its means.

Governor Strickland guided the state through an unprecedented economic storm and built a stronger foundation for Ohio. He left office having positioned Ohio for growth in the 21st century economy.

Lunch Keynote Speaker - Congresswoman Donna Edwards

We're very pleased to announce that Congresswoman Donna Edwards will be our keynote speaker for Saturday's lunch!

Congresswoman Edwards has enjoyed a diverse career as a nonprofit public interest advocate and in the private sector on NASA’s Spacelab project.  In 1994, as co-founder and executive director of the National Network to End Domestic Violence, she led the effort to pass the Violence Against Women Act that was signed into law by President Clinton.

Since being sworn into Congress in 2008, Congresswoman Edwards has secured a number of legislative accomplishments to improve the lives of working families in her Congressional District and around the country. Her first act as a Member of Congress was to add Maryland to the Afterschool Suppers Program, ensuring access to nutritional suppers to afterschool and youth development programs in schools located in low-income areas. During the health care debate, Congresswoman Edwards secured a provision that holds insurance companies accountable for unjustifiable rate increases.

Congresswoman Edwards has introduced legislation to expand research and development, domestic manufacturing, and infrastructure spending to create jobs and grow our economy.
